Goshen County Weed and Pest Control District (GCWP) is an organization created by Wyoming State Statutes (W.S. 11-5-101 through 119) in 1973. Districts throughout the state implement and pursue an effective program for the control of specific weed and pest species. We offer residents of Goshen county a variety of services including spraying, rental equipment, recommendations, pesticide products, and certified weed-free inspections.

The Coordinated Resource Management (CRM) project began in 1994 to manage and control the growing noxious weed issues in Goshen county through long-term IPM goals and solutions.
The areas of focus are rangeland, riparian, recreation, and wildlife habitat areas.
GCWP believes these are high-risk areas for spread and infestation of noxious weeds.
To mitigate these risks, we encourage and support landowners to control weeds by offering a cost-share up to 50% on $1,000.
All treatment programs MUST be pre-approved by GCWP in order to be considered for cost-share reimbursement.

GCWP implements a mosquito program on a yearly basis with funding from the Emergency Insect Management Grant administered by the Wyoming Department of Agriculture.
Our goal is to monitor and treat densely populated areas with a high-risk factor of contracting West Nile virus.
The main goal of the mosquito program is to monitor the population of mosquitoes which transmit West Nile virus (WNV).
While only certain mosquito species transmit this virus, they happen to be common in Goshen county due to our climate and irrigation.
