Carpenter Ants are the most common Wood Destroying Organism pest found in Western Washington.
They are able to establish satellite colonies inside of homes or offices, and will use wall voids or crawl spaces to travel through a structure.
These Ants are typically black or reddish-brown in color, and come in varying sizes.
Carpenter Ants are frequently found in homes during the Spring and Fall.
Consistent sightings often indicate that an infestation has begun.
Sunrise utilizes proven and strategic methods to rid your home of Ants like these and prevent them from coming back.
Odorous House Ants, known by their common nickname "Sugar Ants, " are a frequent and annoying pest here in the Pacific Northwest.
This tiny, black species of Ant is about inch long.
While generally harmless, they are a challenge to eradicate.
Odorous House Ants forage for a variety of foods, including meats, dairy products, vegetables, and sweet substances.
You can always identify them by their namesake: a sickly sweet scent they emit, similar to rotten coconuts or blue cheese.
We recommend contacting a licensed Pest Control Technician to treat these Ants because of their pesky nature and sensitivity to chemicals.
Moisture Ants are brown to brownish yellow in color and about 1/8th of an inch long.
They will invade homes from nests on the property while foraging for food.
Occasionally, an outdoor colony will relocate inside in a bathroom, kitchen or wherever a water leak may be present.
This species can often carry soil into the building, which it uses to construct a "carton" nest.
Carton nests resemble hard clods of soil and may be fashioned around areas such as, plumbing pipes, sill plates or a wall studs.
The Pacific Northwest has one of the highest Rodent populations in the United States.
Rats and Mice invade homes and structures in search of food, water, and shelter.
Here in Western Washington, we are primarily dealing with House Mice, Norway Rats, and Roof Rats.
Rodents are active year round, especially in Winter.
This means that all of our Technicians are especially knowledgeable when it comes to treating, trapping, and stopping Rodent activity.
Rodents live a filthy lifestyle.
This is obvious in the evidence they leave behind: urine, droppings, and otherwise contaminated nesting sites.
