Emergency Pest Control, Inc. was founded in 1987 by Rusty and Rhonda Taylor. We hope that this web site will help you with information regarding pest control and how we may be able to help you. The NPMA-33 form which is used for reporting on wood destroying insects for a real estate closing has been revised. There are several changes on the form which are more clerical in nature.
The main change is the treatment recommendation section regarding termites. The bottom line is that if evidence of previous termites are observed and the house is not under a current termite service warranty a company "may" recommend it be treated. This was a horrible wording and some entomologists and legal experts say legally a company now "should" recommend a treatment to prevent a legal issue.
Hopefully the committee which revised this report will see this issue and create a new revised form, however, this is something that could take time. We had started a facebook page several years ago but were not good at keeping it up to date.

Subterranean termites generally nest in the ground and the workers come to the surface to find cellulose, a wood product, which they eat and then return to the nest to feed the others.
When termites exit from the ground to find wood they build shelter tubes which they travel through.
They keep the interior of these tubes damp as they need moisture to survive.
The picture on the left shows a termite shelter tube on a block foundation wall in a crawl area.
The shelter tube runs up the block and then splits and goes in two directions.

We currently use Termidor, a non-repellent termiticide for treatment of termites.
We occasionally also use another non-repellent, Premise foam, for use in some situations.
Termidor is applied into the soil around foundation walls and under slabs and we have had excellent results in controlling termites with this newer chemical (released for use in 2000).
An initial treatment will have a one year retreatment warranty followed by optional yearly renewals.
This warranty may be continued on a yearly basis and is transferable if you sell your home.
